Look at me

I have been watching the Olympics.  I confess to an odd fascination with curling 🙂 Watching it can be a bit dull – I want to play!  Understand that I am not good at any sport – at school, I was always the last to get picked.  Really.  Even the girl-of-size got picked before me.  She was in goal.  I didn’t share her blocking power.  These days I could give her a run for her money.

I stopped biting my nails in January 2008, after biting them for as long as I can remember.  Why did I give up?  How did I give up?  I don’t know.  I just did, and now I love, love, love my fab fingernails 🙂

Diana, Princess of Wales gave up biting her nails when she got engaged – try and find a picture of her showing off her new sparkler without her fist clenched.  Let me save you some time – you won’t.  By the time she got married, her fingernails were fab, but she still hid them.  Nail biting is habit forming.

Brainman

I just watched Brainman on the Discovery Science Channel.  It is the story of Daniel Tammet, a savant from East London.

Immediately following that show was “Man-made Mammals” about (among other things) the artificial insemination of large mammals.  I can’t put into words what goes on in the first 10 minutes other than to say it involves a male elephant, two men with rubber gloves and a very, very large condom.  The female recipient of the largess was seriously short changed on the delivery mechanism in my opinion.
