Blink and you’ll miss him!

I have been looking at PetFinder a lot recently. There have been so many small dogs abandoned in California that shelters have been overflowing – quite a few have been shipped off to New York. Paris Hilton has a lot to answer for.
Anywho, I digress …
I decided to drop by the Peninsula Humane Society, just to have a look, and snuggle a few lonely cheeksters, you understand. There were so many little dogs looking for homes it was heartbreaking 😦
There was a tiny, pale, impossibly thin Chihuahua. I asked if I could see him. Just to have a look, and a snuggle, you understand. He was shivering and coughing. He had a lump on his head from a healing wound. Poor little guy. His name was Blinky. The Adoption Guy told me that Blinky was a stray, had been in the shelter for a couple of weeks, was about 3 years old, was emaciated (weighing in at barely 3 pounds) and kept getting squashed by other dogs. He had just developed kennel cough and needed to find a warm, quiet and safe home.
Yes, of course I took him home!

When he gets his strength back we can have a chihuahua play date. I’ve got a 6 pounder.

Awwww! As a fan of big dogs, I never thought I’d think a Chihuahua was sweet, but bless his little skinny bottom, Blinky is. And kudos to you for giving that homely little guy a home.
