Maurice in Santa Monica
Posted by episode81 on May 12, 2009
Just got back from Santa Monica. Sun, sea, sand and salad. The weather and shopping were fabulous!
I flew down on Virgin America for the first time. Very nice. Quite the contrast with United, American and the ghastly Southwest. Cheap flights, but no lines and no rude check-in people. In fact, they were very polite, friendly people. A big difference is the departure terminal – SFO International instead of Domestic – which keeps the lines short and people happy.
The differences continue once aboard. Nice new plane after a very orderly boarding. Nice cabin crew with no stupid peanut races. Honestly, I never ever want to fly Southwest again after enduring the peanut/pretzel/bag-o-bits in the aisle race twice on the same flight.
Anywho, I digress …
I have traveled with Maurice for more than 20 years. He has come along on every business trip I have ever taken. He comes along on many of my personal trips too. So, here he is in Santa Monica, at the Pier, checking out the beach on Mother’s Day.
On the way there, I saw this odd looking plant. It is some kind of lumpy succulent. If you know what it is, please let me know 🙂
Lisa.
