A victory for common sense

I have mentioned before my aversion to trees that smell of bodily functions. Since I wrote that post, I have noticed female ginkgo trees all over the place. There are a lot in Palo Alto, and sadly, I seem to walk past them all the time. I had hoped there would be less fruit in the winter. There is less, but it smells twice as bad.
Anywho, I digress …
Palo Alto is taking action! Looks like they have started removing trees that have issues of the fragrant variety. The trees are marked with an angry red dot and a tree removal sign. I was intrigued to see the reason for removal. I was thinking “Smells like poo” was the most accurate, but the politically correct folks who post the signs chose “Fruiting Ginkgo”. I could add an addendum. Or not. Oh it’s tempting 😉
