Henry Cooper

Sad news today about Henry Cooper.  Yes, I know he is a Sir, but that just sounds odd.

Henry Cooper was born in Bellingham, SE London.  He grew up on the infamous council estate rather close to where I grew up.  Clearly, this is how and why he learned to fight!  In spite of the fighting, he has always been known as a very nice man.

Anywho, I digress …

My dad is very fond of reminding me that he made Henry Cooper and his twin brother George get out of my way one day.  Dad was out pushing me in the pram when Henry and George came jogging towards him on a training run.  They jumped out the way to let me (and dad) pass.  They both said hello and smiled.  This made dad very happy.  It makes me happy too.

I have always had the power 😉
